Just pulling in from the drive to our hotel. All in all it was a 10-hour trip from Detroit to Albany. Parking the truck, pulling out the gear and hitting the hay!
Call is 8am with James Gillaspie– we jumped into the demonstration first with the shoot jamming on a breastplate. This guy is amazing.
Here in the shop, he has two whole suits of armor and a bunch of gauntlets – he even has a helmet from the 15th century. This is a subject I’ve been super psyched about – did a ton of research on this craft, love it.
After spending the morning talking and filming we decided to grab some lunch before getting heavy with the hammers. James recommended a little Italian deli close by.
